About Abi

I am fully trained, insured, and follow the highest professional standards of practice. I work from a child-centred, trauma-informed perspective, and use a range of approaches tailored to everyone’s individual needs. My goal is always to create a safe, empathic environment where you can express yourself freely and explore ways to move forward with confidence.

In my sessions, I combine talking therapy with creative tools, play, and other approaches depending on individuals age and developmental stage.

Whether you're navigating big emotions, tackling life transitions, or dealing with more complex issues, I’m here to support you.

My journey into therapy began during my time working in SEND education, where I supported children and young people with a wide range of disabilities and learning differences. I’ve worked across Primary, Secondary, and Post-16 settings, including specialist and alternative provisions.

During that time, I witnessed the emotional struggles many young people face. From anxiety and low self-esteem to the challenges of feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed in school environments. I saw how early experiences shape a child’s confidence, relationships, and mental wellbeing, often leaving a lasting impact into adulthood. I witnessed how deeply emotional wellbeing and learning are connected, and how vital it is for children to feel safe, seen, and supported.

Those incredible young people inspired me to become a therapist. I wanted to create a dedicated space where children and young people can safely explore their feelings, build resilience, and grow in confidence.

Today, my work is grounded in those early experiences and guided by a deep respect for each person’s individual journey. I believe strongly in the power of empathy, the importance of connection, and the value of nurturing autonomy as part of the therapeutic process.
